Controlling Inflation, Sibolga City Government Holds Cheap Market

Entering the fasting month and facing Eid al-Fitr 1445 H, the Sibolga City Government is holding a cheap market operation. This activity is an effort to control prices, especially basic necessities during the fasting month and holidays. This is a program of the Sibolga City Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID). The cheap market activity was held on Wednesday, March 13 2024. The activity was carried out in two places, namely Sibolga Sambas District and Sibolga City.

The Sibolga City Central Statistics Agency (BPS) was invited by the Mayor of Sibolga to review this activity. The activity began with a meeting in the Mayor's office of Sibolga. Present at the meeting: Deputy Mayor of Sibolga, Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Sibolga City, Bank Indonesia Sibolga, Sibolga Police, Kodim 0211/TT, Sibolga Prosecutor's Office, Sibolga Industry and Trade Service, Sibolga Bulog, City Fisheries, Food Security and Agriculture Service Sibolga, Sibolga Transportation Service and Sibolga Kesbangpol. After preparations, the team headed to the cheap market location. Head of Sibolga City BPS, Sabar Alberto Harianja and Walter Situmeang, Head of Sibolga City BPS Price Statistics Team were present at this activity.

Cheap market activities selling 10 Kg of Five Star rice, Bimoli cooking oil, Sugaro packaged granulated sugar and one board of purebred chicken eggs. It is hoped that this cheap market will help people get cheap prices for basic necessities. Based on monitoring at the location, people were very enthusiastic about buying packages of basic commodities sold by the Sibolga Industry and Trade Service.
