Wednesday (03/01/2024), the day after Sibolga City BPS announced the December
2023 inflation figures, Sibolga City BPS was invited by RRI Sibolga to the
Sibolga Morning Dialogue (DSP). DSP is a medium provided by RRI Sibolga which
is used by Central, Regional and BUMN Government Institutions to convey
information to the public. BPS Sibolga City shared information regarding
inflation in December 2023 and 2023. Before starting the event, Ir.
Sulistiyanto Istifarulah, MM, Head of RRI Sibolga welcomed the arrival of the
Head of BPS Sibolga City, Sabar Alberto Harianja who was accompanied by Walter
Situmeang and Leandro Pandapotan Marpaung.
The
Sibolga Morning Dialogue was broadcast live via RRI Pro 1 on the frequency
91.22 FM. The event starts at 09.00-10.00 WIB at RRI Sibolga, which is located
on Jl. Ade Irma Nasution, Simaremare, Sibolga. This DSP event was very special
because it was hosted directly by Bang Ismail Marzuki and Bung Sulistiyanto.
The main sources were Sabar Alberto Harianja as Head of Sibolga City BPS and
Walter Situmeang as Head of the Price Statistics Team. The dialogue took place
warmly and smoothly. Listeners also actively ask questions via social media
platforms. The speakers explained what inflation is, the importance of
inflation figures, and the current inflation conditions in Sibolga City.
Expectations for inflation in 2024 were also conveyed, because in the next 4
months we need to be careful, because of the General Election, Fasting Month
and Eid al-Fitr 1445 H.
Based
on monitoring prices of goods and services in Sibolga City during December
2023, monthly inflation was recorded at 0.08 percent, with cumulative inflation
from January to December reaching 2.80 percent. Several commodities that will
contribute to inflation in December 2023 (y-o-y) in Sibolga City include rice,
hospital rates, red chilies, filtered clove cigarettes and red onions.
Meanwhile, the commodities causing deflation (y-o-y) are lemongrass fish,
skipjack/scale fish, teter fish, tuna fish and puffer fish.
