Abstract

In 2024, the Poverty Line of Sibolga Municipality is at the level of IDR 612,818, per capita per month or an increase of around 44.63 thousand rupiah compared to the Poverty Line in 2023 of IDR 568,188. Residents with per capita expenditure per month below the poverty line are said to be poor.

The percentage of poor people in Sibolga Municipality in March 2024 was 11.39 percent, a decrease of 0.03 points compared to the percentage of poor people in March 2023 of 11.42 percent.

In March 2024, the Poverty Depth Index (P1) showed an increase of 0.21 points. P1 rose from 1.49 in March 2023 to 1.70 in March 2024. This shows that the average expenditure of the population is getting further from the poverty line. The Poverty Severity Index (P2) also showed an increase of 0.10 points from 0.29 in March 2023 to 0.37 in March 2024. This indicates an increasing disparity in expenditure among poor people in Sibolga City.
