Abstract

The Human Development Index (HDI) of Sibolga City has increased compared to 2023. The HDI of Sibolga City in 2024 was 77.52, an increase of 0.45 points (0.58 percent) from the HDI of Sibolga City in 2023.

All components of the HDI that increased caused the HDI of Sibolga City in 2024 to increase. The adjusted per capita expenditure component had the highest growth compared to other components. The growth in adjusted per capita expenditure in 2024 was 3.48 percent compared to the previous year.

In terms of education, in 2024, children aged 7 years have the hope of enjoying education for 13.43 years or almost equivalent to the length of time to complete education to Diploma I level. This figure increased by 0.01 years compared to the previous year which reached 13.42 years. In addition, the average length of schooling for the population aged 25 years and over also increased by 0.01 years, from 10.44 years in 2023.

In the dimension of longevity and healthy living, babies born in 2024 have a life expectancy of 74.19 years, an increase of 0.17 years compared to those born in the previous year. The data source for life expectancy at birth uses the results of the Long Form SP2020 (SP2020-LF).
