BPS Sibolga Peduli Lingkungan “Starting From Nearby”

Still in the spirit of National Statistics Day, BPS-Statistics of Sibolga today (27/09) conducted a community clean-up activity around the BPS office area. The event began with a morning prayer together. All employees of the BPS-Statistics of Sibolga, equipped with gloves, brooms, and trash bags, started collecting trash in front of the office. They then continued walking towards the Gedung Nasional while continuing to pick up litter.

There wasn't much trash found around the Gedung Nasional, as this area is regularly cleaned by staff. However, trash was still discovered in the drains outside the Gedung Nasional and at several points along Ade Irma Suryani Street.

To maintain a clean environment, we cannot solely rely on cleaning staff. Each individual must be aware of the importance of not littering, whether on the streets or in the drains. Trash collected in drains can cause blockages and lead to flooding, especially with the recent heavy rains in Sibolga. Therefore, let us all dispose of our waste properly.
