Abstract

In August 2024, there was year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Sibolga City of 2.21 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.30.

The y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in all expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 3.21 percent; clothing and footwear group by 2.81 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 0.02 percent; household equipment, tools and routine maintenance group by 2.98 percent; health group by 2.62 percent; transportation group by 0.6 percent; information, communication and financial services group by 0.26 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 0.93 percent; education group by 2.82 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 1.11 percent; and personal care and other services group by 5.47 percent.

The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate in August 2024 was 0.22 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate in Sibolga City in August 2024 was 1.77 percent.
