Indonesian Mosaic RRI Sibolga "Post-Eid Inflation"

On Wednesday (22/05/2024), BPS Sibolga City hosted the Mosaik Indonesia RRI Sibolga Pro 1 event from 15.00 to 16.00 WIB. The theme raised was "Post-Eid Inflation". The event was hosted by Muafdan Jega, with resource persons Sabar Alberto Harianja, BPS Sibolga City and Leandro Pandapotan Marpaung, Member of the BPS Sibolga City Price Statistics Team.

Mozaik Indonesia this time provides information and education to listeners and Friends of RRI Sibolga Data regarding inflation in April 2024. The condition of Sibolga City in April 2024 was recorded as experiencing monthly deflation of 0.08% and annual inflation of 4.03%. The main contributor to deflation in April 2024 was the Food, Beverage and Tobacco group with deflation of 0.76% and a share of 0.28%. In terms of commodities, red chilies, tomatoes, ready-made cooking spices, disposable baby diapers/diapers, and grouper/garopa fish are the main contributors to deflation.

At the end of the dialogue, the latest information was provided on the results of field monitoring in the fourth week of May 2024. The data collection results showed that the price of shallots continued to remain stable; Bulog's SPHP rice has increased, while local rice is still holding on. Commodities of chicken eggs and chicken meat are stable; red chilies tend to rise; and some types of fish tend to go down.

BPS Sibolga advises the public to remain wise in responding to prices on the market. In general, deflation can be an opportunity for people to get goods and services at more affordable prices.
